2018 SERIES THREAD: Miami vs FAU - 2/28, 3/21, 4/4

Post

Must go at least 3-1 this week to make an immediate jump back into the national scene and to get back on the radar of the ranking media.   A win tonight would help that become more of a reality plus the series win against miami would be a nice bonus.

Nice pace down in the Gables, already through three complete and Marc Stewart is making good on his start.

Owls put a pair on the board in the 2nd inning courtesy of Cody Wilson's 2 RBI single.

Canes take the lead as Stewart (3.1IP, 3H, 5R, 3BB, 3K) is touched up for two runs in the bottom of the fourth off two hits and a walk.

Nick Swan (0IP, 2H, 1BB) comes in to finish the side, but can not and another two runs cross the plate - charged to Stewart.

Matt Harris makes for the third Owls hurler of the frame, and inherits a bags loaded situation. He finally retires the Cane's side, but not before three more runs are in.

All told, seven runs off of five hits.

Eric Rivera brings home David Miranda to make it a six spot for the Canes.

Meanwhile Jordan Poore takes the mound for the Owls, replacing Harris, and he strikes out two in a welcomed 1-2-3 effort.

Miami goes to the pen to relieve tonight's starter Daniel Federman (6IP, 6H, 3R, 2ER, 2BB, 5K), and tap game one's starter Michael Mediavilla for the task.

Mediavilla sees Cody Wilson send his third ball of season over the wall for the Owls to start the frame, and Tyler Frank doubles to follow. Mediavilla gets out of the inning, but not before Miranda drives in Frank.

The Owls have made it a four run affair as they stretch.

Mike Ruff will come on as Florida Atlantic's fifth pitcher thereafter.
