Salem joined the Panthers after working as a recruiting assistant at Michigan State in 2014. During his one season in East Lansing, the Spartans finished with a No. 5 national ranking following a stirring Cotton Bowl victory over Baylor.
During the 2012 and 2013 seasons, Salem worked at Illinois as a player personnel and special teams assistant. He spent the summer of 2013 gaining NFL experience as an operations intern with the Indianapolis Colts. Salem was also an intern with the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League (AFL) in 2011.
He is a 2014 graduate of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural and consumer economics.

"Player evaluation, sometimes called scouting, is a central part of a director of player personnel's job. He must pull together all the information on a player, including input from team scouts and coaches, recruiting services and other sources, to present to the general manager and head coach."

Dumb post. It’s a promotion recruiting directors don’t get judged like a staff. Laden’s deep recruiting ties to South Florida and now higher title will only propel him forward.
