Sad the amount of owls which will be eaten by FAU. I guess they will never come off endangered species list.
FAU beat the following and think they are big hoots.
#53 North Texas
#70 Marshall
#75 LA Tech
#81 FIU
#88 Akron
#93 WKU
#94 Middle Tennessee State
#105 Old Dominion

Like I have been saying UCF lost a lot of guys on D and Randy Shannon is overrated as heck.
Could not land a single DC job for years after UM take over at UF after Geoff leave and UF fall 25 spots.

Hi, UCF fan looking forward to our game! Let me know if you want any recommendations around campus if you are coming up.
As an FYI the UCF defense should be much improved this year with a major jump in the secondary (Neal lost his job as a starter in the spring and transferred to Nebraska), full 2 deep on the D line and a LB corp better suited for the 4-3. We will miss Shaquem but we return our leading tackler and play maker, Jasinski at the Mike.
We have a couple of elite rush DEs in Titus Davis, Bacote-Sweat and early enrollee freshman Randy Charlton from Miami Southridge who is turning a lot of heads and is fighting to be a starter. Looking forward to the season and good luck at OUPosted On: Aug 23rd 2018, 12:31 PM #379614
You return two starters in your secondary. One who left was a first round pick. Not sure how you predict a "major jump."
Shaquem was also extremely underrated, even for your fans. That is a huge loss.
None of those "elite pass rushers" have impressed me. In fact, I would be most afraid of Charlton.
Our o-line was pretty good last year, lost 3 starters, and replaced them with 2 grad transfers and a redshirt freshman who took a huge jump.
We also have a motor.
Really looking forward to this matchup though. The only game on at that time will be us squaring off! ESPN will likely pump this game up too.

My favorite part was the referee who accidentally tackled UCF QB McKenzie Milton because he didn't know which way to move out of the way
UCF's offense is prolific and will continue to be with Milton. In that sense, especially if we are as prolific as last year, the FAU/UCF game will likely be a shootout. You could argue that UConn played some atrocious defense and that made them look better, but there's no doubt there's talent there. Hope our defense can slow it down.
A lot of people were bellyaching about the UCF defense, especially the run defense. That bodes well for us if it hasn't been fixed before our game. UConn had a total of 486 yards of offense with 220 of that rushing. Mind you, UConn was 3-9 last year and isn't predicted to do much better this year; Athlon predicts them at 117th team in the nation overall and 5th in the AAC East.
UCF then goes on to face FCS team South Carolina State on 9/8 and UNC on 9/15. Interestingly, UNC also won 3 games last year and may win 4-6 games this year, especially with 4-game suspensions of the projected starting QB and 12 other players for selling school-provided shoes. So you might argue that FAU could be UCF's first real good test… but then again we're still waiting to see what OUR 2018 team is going to look like.
