QB Nick Tronti hands off at practice
It was a very newsy morning at the team facility in the Oxley Center. Today we learned of a player departure, a season ending injury and a new arrival to camp. Not to mention a full morning practice.

- OT Calvin Ashley Transferring to Florida A&M While addressing the media after practice Lane Kiffin dropped a bombshell. Kiffin told reporters that recent Auburn transfer OT Calvin Ashley will now be heading to Florida A&M in Tallahassee to be closer with family. Ashley was the presumptive starter at RT, but unfortunately his tenure in Boca Raton has ended prematurely. The right tackle job is now between two redshirt freshmen: Marquice Robinson and Doug Johnson Jr. Currently, Robinson appears to be a little more ahead in the race as he has taken more first team reps.
- WR Eyein Cole Out For Season The true freshmen had a wonderful start to fall camp. Unfortunately, the Niceville, Florida native hurt his knee in drills about a week ago. Lane Kiffin revealed that Cole`s MRI showed a torn ACL. “Just looking at height, weight and speed, he was probably our best WR signee since we got here from that stand point. His testing numbers were off the charts.” Lane Kiffin said after practice. FAU fans will have to wait another year before seeing the talented wideout on the field.
- WR Adrian Bryant Arrives at Camp The wide receiver room received an addition this morning as JuCo transfer Adrian Bryant practiced for the first time this fall. Bryant who spent last season playing at College of the Sequoias, caught 19 passes and had four touchdown. “He`s obviously a long ways behind, it will be a process”, Kiffin said when asked about how quickly Bryant will be able to get up to speed. Originally from Winter Haven, Bryant was one of the best big play threats in the California Community College Association last season. He has three years left of eligibility.
- The Return of Pico Back on the field today was senior WR Tavaris “Pico” Harrison. He had been limited for roughly the past two weeks due to injury. The Miami-Dade County native has 47 career catches as an Owl and is expected to be right in the mix on the perimeter. Harrison is predominately a possession wideout who is very rangy with his 6’3” frame. Last season against Air Force, Harrison had a career high 7 catches for 138 yards.
- Offense Has a Clean Day Today was a very sound day for the offense. “I felt the offense looked really good throughout the day in all phases, running, throwing and catching”, Lane Kiffin told reporters. After struggling with consistency and turnovers in Saturdays scrimmage, this is certainly a step in the right direction for the offense. His entire commentary can be seen below.
- Play of The Day In 11 on 11, defensive end Anthony Bennett stormed the backfield and recovered a fumble. The senior was able to scoop the ball in full stride and turned on the after burners running towards the end zone. The fumble was caused by a bad snap by the center which was out of QB Chris Robinson`s reach.
