FAU Records Watch - Most Passing Yards and TD's in Single Year

Post

The all-time FAU program record for most passing yards in a single year is 3,688 by Rusty Smith in 2007. Smith (pictured above) also holds the record for most TD's in a single season at 32, which also occurred in 2007.

Current starting quarterback Chris Robison currently sits at 1,412 yards through his five games for 2019 and has and 12 TD's as well. Given his current pace, he has a fair shot at challenging the programs' marks set by Smith mark if he should maintain his pace this season and have a couple big games.

Here is Robison's game-by-game yardage totals so far this season.

Ohio State 178 YDS
Central Florida 177 YDS
Ball State 366 YDS
Wagner 379 YDS
Charlotte 312 YDS

Will update his progress each week in this thread as the season plays out.

You would think Robison would look much more like the last 3 weeks rather than like the first 2 as we go through C-USA play.  The running game looked much better against Charlotte, and the ground game can really help keep teams from sending everybody and trying to disrupt the passing game.

Robison’s overall rating and particularly his completion percentage has also sky-rocketed after the rough UCF game.

Robison had an off night against the Blue Raiders, his lowest of the season, and that is going to sting.

Chris was def. off but the MTSU safeties already had 4 pics in the year so maybe that affected him too.

Good news is that had again had zero turnovers even on an off day and run game is improving with each game it seems!

Marshall run D has been up and down this year so far. Will probably be stronger test for run game than MT was though.

Robison is chased all night by the Herd, is sacked 7 times, and gets no run support (57 YDS on 36 Carries).

Yet he still puts up a solid yardage showing.

Record watch is still alive…stay tuned.

Robison had a very solid 1st half  against ODU until having to leave the game due to injury

Record watch is not looking good now, but I signed up to track this and will continue to do so!

Besides, provided he comes back, he may toss 500 yards against FIU, and make up for the deficit.

Hope he is ok and does just that Rick, but it is the FIU RUN D that is so bad.

MTSU has 3 guys over 100 yards rushing and O'Hara was only 6 of 12 for 25 yards passing. Yes, you read that right, 25 yards passing as a team with Ty Lee for only 9 yards Wish WE had TY! Where were OUR WR's yest.??? Mitchell 1 reception for 1 yard??? And I thought Ty's number was sad!!!

MYSU went full Army vs. FIU yest. and I hope Malcom is good for them! But we have WKU on the road next to deal with and hope our starting QB and RB and back for that one. one game at a time guys, Bowl eligibility next win! We just knocked ODU out and am pretty sure they will have a new Coach next year, hope not, like the results with this guy!

Robison repeats his yardage showing from last week against ODU today against WKU…the record will likely stay in place at his point.

He needs to average 338 YPG the rest of the way, including the post season, to do it.

But will keep tracking!

Robison nets 298 yards against FIU in what was supposed to be a primarily run oriented attack. While the ground game did foster well, there was close amount of passing attempts as well overall.

He's going to need to average almost 352 yards per game from here out (over three games with a Bowl contest included) to catch Rusty Smith in single season total yardage.

Regardless, still an awesome showing thus far over last season (2,540 total).

Still a decent shot Robison will get 4 more games - win our last 2 and La Tech beats Marshall next week, and we will play in the C-USA championship and a bowl game.  If my math is correct, he could get there averaging 264 if he plays in 4 more.
