Yeah they just don't care down there.

Not only that but there's a Dolphins game (first game with the roof) and plenty of other things to do in Miami. The presumption is that playing in the Miami market brings great benefits but it's actually counter intuitive. Nobody will show up for a middle of the road mid major school at best when it "ain't the only game in town" so to speak .

I don't buy the "there's so much to do in South Florida" argument any longer. There is lot's to do, don't get me wrong.

I think it is a lack of relevancy in the college football world (we have the same problem). There were not 40,000 FIU students at the Dolphins game.  There were more sitting at home doing nothing other than looking at their iPhone.

We have 30,000 students and 25,000 will never see a FAU Football.  Ever.

Winning helps as everyone is about to say, but we have to win many years in a row to start to move the needle in the relevancy department.  Let's start the process this year!!

Well with Pokemon Go, today's students don't have as much time for things like football, school, or anything else.

We all look like National Champions in the first quarter, except of course UNC-Charlotte.  Way to represent the conference and proving that the $200k a year tv deal was a great deal!

I had two FAU flashbacks yesterday.

The IND vs FIU game looked a lot like last years MIA vs FAU game. Looked great and competitive for over half the game, and it all slipped away at the end.

the App  St vs Tenn game looked a lot like our FAU vs UF game… Well we all know what happened.

FIU did have a solid game, they're defense  held up all the way to late in the 4th. Their QB is ok, but with pressure by the our D line, I'm sure we can take them, granting we have a good offense.

On another note WKU QB is a beast, over 500 yards thrown. WKU is really a game I want to win this year.  That would propel us in Conference and recruiting against them. Come on we are less than 2 miles from the beach and have a nice stadium, I hope to out-recruit these on a consistent basis.  Let's go Owls!!!

I watched the entire FIU game and I do believe they have a decent defense but their offense is not good.  McGough was 23/46 with no TDs and 3 INTs.  Put some pressure on him and he folds.  Indiana is not a very good team either so I don't know how much to garner from this other than a decent defense, other than that I didn't see much.

GO OWLS!

Based on where we better be this year for Charlie's sake we better have three wins after last night, Charlotte, Rice and to a little lesser extent FIU.

GO OWLS!

Right. McGough is in his 3rd year there at FIU, he should have played better than he did.

It was just a rough game all around for them.
Safety.
3 interceptions including two pick-sixes.
Limited to 63 yards rushing.
4-14 on 3rd down.

And Indiana didn't exactly look dominant either.

So if I were an FIU fan, I'd hope this was a one-time fluke thing as the first game of the season. They need to find some more offense if they hope to go bowling this year.

As far as us vs them, I guess we'll know more tomorrow night. I sure hope we have an offense other than a ground game.

Game change to note:

Due to the expected impact of Tropical Storm Hermine this weekend, the Old Dominion vs. Hampton football game at Foreman Field at SB Ballard Stadium has been moved to Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET. Heavy rain (as much as 5.5 inches) and tropical storm like winds (up to 50 mph) are expected to peak Saturday evening.

Neither FIU nor App St. have good O's at all (or Tennessee for that matter!).

App. St. should have beat Tennessee but a missed XP and a FG, plus not recovering two (2) fumbles they should have (late in the 4th qtr. AND the game winning TD in OT) AND ESPECIALLY pissing away the end of the game and not even getting a FG attempt FROM ROUGHLY THE UT 30! Even the UT fans thought they were gonna lose that game. ANY decent O in that game and they win BIG!
