For the first time in 2018, all 14 Conference USA schools will be matched up in league action on Saturday, with seven games spread throughout the day.
East Division rivals Florida Atlantic and Marshall open the day’s action. FAU junior RB Devin Singletary continues his rise up the all-time FBS rushing TDs list, now up to 13th with 58 career rushing scores. He will be going against a Thundering Herd defense that ranks third in C-USA in rushing defense and allows a league-low 3.0 yards per carry.
Charlotte will make the short trip to Middle Tennessee in another East Division matchup. The 49ers youthful offense, along with junior RB Benny LeMay have proven successful at home, but now must go on the road against a Blue Raiders team that has a solid defense led by senior LB Khalil Brooks and senior S Jovante Moffatt.
UTEP returns from its bye week with a trip to Louisiana Tech. The Miners offense has shown improvement in recent weeks, especially on the ground, and UTEP will be matched against one of the league’s more balanced offenses in LA Tech.
Southern Miss will face its third straight conference foe from Texas when it hosts UTSA. Last year’s meeting between these teams featured plenty of offense, but defensive play has been the calling card for both schools in 2018.
The third and final East Division game this week takes place in Bowling Green, where WKU welcomes Old Dominion to town. Points are usually plentiful when these teams meet.
Rice makes the trip to Miami to square off against FIU in the lone cross-division contest this week. The Owls special teams unit is one of the league’s best and has made big plays all season. It will be facing an FIU team that is going for its first 3-0 league start as a member of Conference USA.
North Texas and UAB, who produced an offensive shootout last season, meet up in Birmingham. The Mean Green continue to get it done with a high-powered offense, but the Blazers success is keyed by one of the league’s top defenses.

I guess WKU could climb out by beating the 13th worst team in the land (ODU).

North Texas 21 UAB 29
The Mean Green complete a pass on 4th and 10 in the UAB red zone that is just shy of the sticks with :27 to play and turn the ball over on downs - giving the Blazers the win in victory formation.

Three un-timed penalties in a row, but the Monarchs come out on top.
After a crazy series of events, @ODUFootball kicks a game-winning field goal at the end of regulation! 😳 pic.twitter.com/AmWXVmVT9Y
