C-USA Football: Games for Week of 11-24-18

The final week of the 2018 regular season has already arrived. The final full Saturday will provide plenty of intrigue with a schedule that stretches throughout the day.

An important showdown in the East Division takes place at when Marshall visits FIU.  The Panthers control their destiny to win the division and play in their first C-USA Championship Game with a victory in this one. The Thundering Herd looks to keep the momentum going as they get ready for their fifth bowl appearance in six years.

Louisiana Tech will host WKU in the other late morning tilt. These teams have rotated victories over the last five years and the Bulldogs will seek a second straight win over the Toppers in its tune up for a fifth consecutive bowl trip.

Old Dominion has won its first two meetings over Rice by three points each time and the Monarchs will head to Houston looking to finish the season on a three-game winning streak, while the Owls hope to finish a 13-game regular season that began on August 25 on a high note.

Southern Miss will make the trip out to El Paso to face UTEP looking to finish with a winning record in league play. More importantly, the Golden Eagles need a win to become bowl-eligible for the 22nd time in 25 years.

The game with the biggest implications on Saturday’s schedule is UAB at Middle Tennessee.  A Blazer victory will mean that West Division Champion UAB would finish league play 8-0 and host the 2018 Globe Life C-USA Championship Game on Dec. 1.  A Blue Raiders could mean that the championship game is held in Murfreesboro, depending on the result of FIU’s game.

Charlotte will close out its 2018 campaign with a visit to Florida Atlantic in a series that has seen the road team win each game.  The Owls need to defeat the 49ers in order to reach six wins and become bowl-eligible.

North Texas will finish the regular season in San Antonio, matching up with UTSA.  The Mean Green are attempting to win nine games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1977-78.

The 2018 Globe Life C-USA Football Championship will take place on Saturday, December 1 at 1:30 p.m. CBS Sports Network will televise the game.

Not knocking their season b/c they've had a good one, but I wonder what our record would be with FIU's (really easy) schedule.
