Following a 36-33 triple-overtime victory over East Carolina that improved the team to 3-0 in Conference USA play and 5-2 overall, Tulane has swept the weekly football awards for October 14.

Redshirt freshman reserve QB Devin Powell was named Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 224 yards and two touchdowns in just his second career start. The Defensive award went to a Tulane defensive back for the third straight week, with junior DB Derrick Strozier (last week's Special Teams Player of the Week) gaining the honor after returning an interception 99 yards for a touchdown.

The Special Teams Player of the Week award went to Green Wave senior K Cairo Santos, who booted a school-record-tying five field goals, including the game-winner on the final play of the game for the second straight week. Tulane is the second school to sweep the weekly awards this season, joining Tulsa which won all three honors September 9. C-USA Football Players of the Week are voted on by a panel of the league's media.
