I love how you guys actually think Florida Atlantic University sounds any more legitimate than Florida International University. I can give you examples of online/technical/non-accredited "universities" that use "Atlantic" and/or "International" in their name. If you think one sounds "illegitimate," you should think they both do. Not much of a difference AT ALL.

That being said, I think they're both fine. This whole "legitimate" or "directional" stuff is a load of crap. Win, and people will know your name. Wont matter if you're Boise State, Charlotte, or Canisius College.

I think either is fine, I just found it odd that for the first time it seems that we are "prefering" to be called Florida Atlantic in the press, while FIU is "prefering" to be called FIU. I do think that it's being done on purpose as I am sure that both schools are tired of the media confusing the two (which does happen on both ends). No superiority of one over the other in my book.

Oh yeah, Its 2:01 on Thursday June 20th, and FIU still sucks.  8)
