Anyone have any insight to why Labsen and Stewart are not in the projected weekend starters rotation this weekend.

Finally, opening day 2017. Lots of new faces in the lineup, looking forward to see how they produce. Entirely new out fielding crew so that's going to be a big ? early in the season.
Anyone have any insight to why Labsen and Stewart are not in the projected weekend starters rotation this weekend.

Both are injured, although Stewart is very minor.
HOWEVER, the top three guys right now are Swan, House and Miednik (new). Stewart coudl be either 3 or 4 depending how things pan out with the line-up right now and once Labsan is healthy again he could also enter it.
Labsan will DH though in the meantime…

Lets see how this jump goes because it seems FAU has had trouble with the Friday spot the last couple years.
Read that Miednik has electric SO stuff.
For us to take the next step FAU needs to be better against high end pitching.
The offensive numbers get skewed because of our ability to drop 15 on avg pitching, but we tend to show nothing when we face top end guys in regionals.

I would say we struggle in the regular season in the past against top end pitchers. Probably the majority of our losses came on Fridays last year when we faced the opponent's top pitcher.

Ugh. Was hoping to hear we were possibly saving them for next week or something. Never good coming out the gate with our pitching staff already dealing with nagging injuries as minor they are. Labsen fought a nagging sore shoulder the entire season last year if I remember correctly.
