You really think that there is a huge difference between our gym and FIU's? I don't. Their building is slightly newer, possibly a little bigger, but in terms of atmosphere and design, to me, the two buildings are pretty similar.

Who mentioned FIU? The Panthers' place does look impressive frm the outside.

The FAU gym would be a great atmopshere place with 2,000 to 3,000 people in it. That came close to happening this season twice. It got loud.

It was a good start.

I still think some people here are seriously underestimating (as I did) the quality of play in the SunBelt - and not just from South Ala. and WKU. MTSU, the Arkansas teams, Louisiana and Troy (when it plays up to caliber, as it did in about half its games) can beat anyone in the league and have.

Our gym is like a high school gym. FIU's is almost a proper arena. Mercer has a sweet new gym too. Trust me, I hate FIU as much as anyone, but they have us way beaten on facilities except for the Oxley.

Man, I hate to keep bringing this up. I'm sure that is the reason it was decided to go for the multipurpose dome. It might bring the cost more into perspective considering a new arena and a new stadium.
