Doherty may clean house except for Walters. Walters may go if he doesn't get an offer.

Does FAU need to convince the other assistant coaches to stay? Do you think they will? With one less coach on the payroll (Doherty had one extra coach), FAU might be able to pay a little more. Would this get Doherty's goat? Not that this would be the intention of course.

Its sound like Walters really wants this job, he may not be the high profile type Angelos would like to have, but we can't forget that Walters has many ties in S. FL.. With a higher profile coach you run the risk of another short stay or do you go with Walters for some type of continuity and IMO stability, commitment and dedication to building our program we haven't had in a while. Walters is ready to prove himself, either here or for a smaller program, I think we should give him the chance. This would allow us to pay him what we can afford and the players like him and would help the transistion with the new recruits coming in.

I just hope Angelos, takes his time with this one and look to the long term benefits when hiring the next coach.

Does anyone know the contract deals/details that go to assistant coaches? Doherty had a buy out to leave, but Farmer has already gone with him. Do Farmer and other assistant coaches contracts just go year to year?

Year to year I hear for the assistant coaches. Some head coaches are the same way.
