Back on Track; Owls Take Game 1 of ULM Series
Travis Ozga and senior classmate William Block each had timely RBI hits during a four-run FAU fourth inning which gave the Owls a lead that would go the distance.
Louisiana-Monroe pulled to within one run in the eighth, but sophomore Glen Troyanowski sealed the win for the Owls in the top half of the ninth inning.
Mike Gipson who pitched effectively through seven complete innings, allowing just two runs and striking out three, is now 2-2 on the year.
Florida Atlantic improved on their offensive performance from Wednesday as well, generating 11 hits on the night.
FAU stands at 15-7 overall, and 4-5 in Sun Belt play.
The Owls will look to ensure the overall series title with a win tommorow in game two at 4:00PM EST.
