very sad for us as fans…..he is a great man/coach………and even a little fun on the board too!

Sorry to hear about Coach Cooney leaving. He's had a great run here! Us diehard fans will miss seeing his chats with the umpires! He's truly a baseball man for the fans and the players. Maybe we can have Cooney Stadium or Field and still hear Springsteen played. Will really miss reading his Diamond Diary. It was always about much more than baseball. Hopefully he could publish his collection someday. Wish him all the best down on the farm in Tennessee. He won't be forgotten.

I really hope they can honor him and retire # 20 and name the stadium after him.

I hope its coach Mac that takes over since he's been here for 17 of the 21 years Cooney has been here and it would be nice to see him get his chance

Sad news but hopefully the best for Cooney. I really respected what he did for you guys, I also really enjoyed reading his blog. For any college baseball fan, his blog was a great read.

The video of the media announcement is on the FAU website. I just got through watching it.

This news saddens me a great deal, for not only losing a great coach, but more importantly a great person.

Yet, I am also elated for him & his family for having the courage and the strength making what had to be a very difficult decision, that will allow them to live on the next chapter of their lives.

Best wishes to KC & family on their new life's journey.

He knows where God's Country is ! In all seriousness, Cooney is a class act and we welcome him here to our state. He will be a tough one to replace. I will not miss him at FAU, however, 'cause he's ripped us a new one the past couple of years ;)
