FAU 2,Campbell 0 (F) FAU now 14-6,4-1

FAu won the second game of the series against Campbell with great pitching from Chris Salberg(7 2/3 IP of scoreless ball) and Mickey Storey(struck out all 4 batters he faced for his 6th save). McBryde and Widlansky had the RBI's for FAU.

I saw this game yesterday. It was a very impressive pitching performance. FAU stunk it up on the basepaths though. Ran themselves out of a couple innings.

Does Storey have a fastball? It was deuce, deuce, deuce, deuce…

I talked to Coach Kooney and told him when he starts playing all of those gulf coast teams next year, he shouldn't forget about the alumni up this way. I've had Campbell and Gardner Webb to visit to see them play up here, but I will be losing that luxury.

i suggested to him a yearly run down Tobacco Road. Tuesday against the Heels or NC State, Thursday over to Duke or Elon, then a couple games against Wake Forest on the weekend. I think they should make it a yearly trek. He seemed more interested in his between games sandwich, but he did take time to sign my kids' ball.

Storey has a low 90's fastball that smokes and a knee buckling curve ball that he will throw at any time in the count. His stats will reveal that he is tied with Crotta for strikeouts with 27. He also has a killer move to first that will catch alot of guys off guard. Teams that haven't seen him (which is everyone at this point) are caught by surprise because he is a skinny little Freshman, but he has a huge heart & desire to dominate the batter, which he has proven he can do. He is one of the few bright spots for the Owls so far this season and my only complaint is we haven't seen enough of him.
