Projected RPI after Marshall series - Updated Thursday Apr 14

Things improved a little last night, and we even moved up a spot thanks to C-USA play.

Updated estimates of RPI (currently .5727 for 35th) with different outcomes of the series in Beckley this weekend, and where that would place us if we had that RPI today:

3-0 .5803 25

2-1 .5759 31

1-2 .5713 36

0-3 .5662 42

That ignores and changes Thursday opponents' and opponents' opponents' impact, and all other than Marshall's opponents' record impact over the weekend. That will likely affect it slightly, and with the C-USA having a strong RPI as a conference, hopefully moreso in a positive way over the weekend. We are in a tight range, which shifted slightly to the better last night, with +/- .0050 being the difference between 27 and 40. With so few games tonight, and none for C-USA, it should not change much between now and Friday morning. But, we are rooting for Florida at Arkansas tonight.

Not much change resulting from yesterday's play, though we did move up one spot in RPI. My guestimates on RPI results from this weekend.

The +/- .0050 from where we stand now is 27 to 39. I have a win tonight putting us about .5756 and 32nd tomorrow morning.

C-USA is now 4th best RPI conference, and getting back into conference play added .0024 to RPI, slightly more than I had at best hoped. Now sitting at .5780 and 24th.

Most surprising to me is that with a single road win over a rather humble Ohio State, Rutgers jumped .0122 points in RPI and 16 places and into the top 50, giving us 9 games in the top 50, with a 7-2 record.
