Attitudes, as someone stated previously was a big problem with a few of the players at UNC that started the problems for Matt. Which was unfair and unfortunate, but very fortunate for FAU. The rest of the players had the highest respect for him. This guys isn't expecting respect from players without earning that respect and visa versa.

He is doing a terrific job and will continue to do so. Lets us enjoy this new found enthusiasm of a real basketball team. By the way watch some of the other top schools especially when they start to slide during a game. It is truly amazing.

Matt will do just fine here in Florida. The school, players and fans appreciate his desire and drive.
I really hope that the media don't print stuff just for sensationalism.

I hope that Doherty brings an atmosphere and tradition of winning to the campus and it rubs off on all the atheletes in all the sports. Howard is a proven winner but more will just make it that much better.

I really hope we hear something soon about the dome or what ever they decide they are going to build.

There was a lot of behind the scene occurances that was involved as well, it goes to show that everybody must be on the same page for any continued success to occur. I get the sense that Doherty realizes the mistakes he made and since then has done what he had to do to move forward and continue to grow as a person.

Unfortunately the media will continue to take jabs at him for his past, but I believe that Doherty is a strong individual and will handle himself properly and take those jabs for what they are, the best things you can do is to take the jabs, side step them and stay focus on your current goals, eventually the jabs will have little effect and will be just that, a thing of the past.

Howard had to deal with the Oklahoma BS and it still come up now and then, but rarely those it overshadow his accomplishments on the grid iron - winners have a way of moving forward and acheiving greater things from those temporary set backs, called failures.

I see Doherty doing just that, having greater success from the set back of UNC and those successes can be defined in many ways - having FAU competing on a regular bases in the NCAA Tourny would pretty much be
such an accomplishment, which IMO will bring FAU an invite to a better conference affiliation and with the success the Football program will be having will also be a driving force behind the move.

Don't forget that our baseball team's success can help our school draw interest from a bigger conference. Plus I'm sure either the Big East or Conference USA would love to have two teams from the state of FL to help the rest of the conference get exposure and recruit in our state.
