Former Owl Nick DelGuidice Named Royals Organization's "Hitter of the Year"
Congratulations are in order for former Owl shortstop Nick DelGuidice, who was named the Kansas City Royals organization's "Hitter of the Year” after a .408 batting average and 24 RBI this past summer with the Arizona Royals, a member of the Arizona Rookie League.
“We are very proud of Nick and what he accomplished this summer,” said John McCormack, FAU’s head baseball coach. “What a way to start his professional career.”
The performance prompted DelGuidice a rise to the Royal's Class A affiliate in Idaho Falls. Once there, the talented fielder kept the bat hot, connecting for a .355 avg in 17 games played.
