Florida Atlantic picked up its first top 25 win of 2013 by defeating then #23 FGCU 9-8 at FAU Stadium on February 26th.
Since then they broke into the rankings themselves for a week, but fell out on Monday after dropping two straight to Louisiana-Monroe over the weekend, ending an eight game win streak.
Levi Meyer had multiple-hit efforts in each game against the Warhawks, which has elevated his batting average to .324.
Overall, Brendon Sanger continues to lead the team with a .411 mark, adding 19 runs scored.
In contrast, the Eagles have remained in the "spotlight", and took a 2-1 series victory from Kennesaw State after following a 1-6 loss on Friday with 5-3, and 4-1 wins over the Owls in the final two contests.
Sporting a 20-8 overall mark, they currently rank 24th in the Perfect Game Baseball Poll updated April 8th, while being tied for first place in the Atlantic Sun Conference (6-3).
The Owls will be looking to get back into the win column before playing host Middle Tennessee in a three-game series at FAU baseball Stadium which starts Friday at 6:30 PM.
Freshman right hander Kyle Miller will get hist first start for FAU in familiar surroundings. Miller, who has registered 10 K's over 9.2IP during his seven scattered appearances in 2013, is from Fort Myers and attended Estero High School.
FGCU is 10-3 at home on the season and brings Clint Knoblauch to the mound. Knoblauch is allowing opponents just .119 at the plate in his 17.2 innings of work.
