FAU vs UM - The Series:: Miami owns a 44-8 advantage in its all-time series with FAU.  The Hurricanes won all three meetings last year and have won eight of the last 10 meetings going back to the 2003 season.

  • [li]The Hurricanes (16-7) have won six of their last eight, including a 4-0 shut-out win at NC State on Sunday[/li]

    Freshman left-hander Steven Ewing is slated to make his fourth start of the season, with mid-week wins at USF and at UCF in back-to-back weeks in early March. [/li]
    [li]The Hurricanes' top three middle relievers - Encinosa, Whaley and Daniel Miranda - continue shine. The trio boasts a 2.58 ERA together and has struck out 78 in 62 2/3 innings.  [/li]
    [li]Yasmani Grandal for the 'canes continues to swing one of the hottest bats in the ACC, going 9-for-14 against over the weekend. Grandal recorded multiple hits in all three games, but hit his first career triple on Saturday and finished just a double short of the cycle in a 4-for-5, five RBI night for the junior catcher. [/li]

  • [li]FAU enters Wednesday's game with an overall record of 15-8 and a road record of 4-3. The Owls have won six of their last seven games.[/li]
    [li]Offensively for the Owls, Andy Mee is hitting a team-high .386 with five homers and 20 RBI while Dan Scheffler holds a .350 average with a team-high six homers and 23 RBI.[/li]
    [li]The Owls have successfully swiped 24-of-32 stolen base attempts, including a perfect seven-for-seven from Colby Gratton.[/li]
    [li]The ever versatile Mee who doubles as FAU's closer, has allowed just one run in 10 1/3 innings this year, earning a win and four saves in eight outings.[/li]
    [li]Owl reliever Ryan Bernal (1-0, 1.54 ERA) has appeared in a staff-high nine games.[/li]

The 'Canes answer for a run in the bottom of the 1st (with 2 outs) - R.J. Alvarez registered 3 KO's in the inning.

UM goes quietly, as Alvarez gets his 4th KO of the game.

The Owls add one run in the 3rd…Albaladejo started the rally with a double & Mee brought him home with a single.

After hitting a 'Canes batter, Alvarez strikes out two in the 3rd & Albaladejo guns downs a Miami's base runner on a steal attempt.

The Owls pick-up one more hit (Albaladejo) in the 4th.

The first Miami batter Everist faces & one of the 'Canes HOTTEST hitters, knock one over the fence with a lead-off home run by Yasmani Grandal of the 'Canes.

The 'Canes pick at the Owls lead.  FAU 3 UM 2 - 0 outs.

Not a good start for Taylor…gives up a walk to the next batter & another blast to give the 'Canes their first lead of the night - still no outs.
