Game Notes:

Florida Atlantic's struggles continued over the weekend, as the club dropped their third straight Sun Belt Conference series with a pair of losses to Arkansas-Little Rock.

The team will now look to rebound on the road against Florida, who was swept by #3 LSU last week. The Gators have played one of the toughest schedules in the nation thus far, and are still ailing from a disappointing start to the season.

Head coach John McCormack will hand the ball to senior Jake Meiers in hopes of securing what would be an impressive and much needed midweek win. The Owls are just 3-7 in their last ten games and need to turn things around with post season play looming around the corner.

Meiers will be making his first start in over a month after being regulated from the weekend rotation. The right hander tossed four innings in relief against Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday and picked up the win with his efforts. Meiers has been effective out of the bullpen over the last month and will look to translate that success from the start of the contest.

Last time FAU was able to defeat Florida, it was four years ago and closer Hugh Adams was  just a freshman. The right hander tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up his third career save, as the Owls won 7-6 on the road. Adams returns to Gainesville as program's career leader in saves, and ranks 8th in the country with 13 saves this season.

Florida is led by right fielder Justin Shafer, who's 17 doubles led the SEC. Catcher Taylor Gushue, a Boca Raton native, bats cleanup and is hitting .302 on the year. His 31 RBI's lead the Gators, while his five home run's are tied for the most on the team.

FAU has won five of it's last six midweek games and is 7-3 overall in games played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Florida will host Florida A&M on Monday night, as they open a five-game homestand. The Owls took two games from the Rattlers earlier this season.
