Greetings From Mississippi

Just thought I would stop by and wish yall the best of luck, Should be a good game between Florida atlantic and my bulldogs. I myself wasn't to happy about the Bulldogs being sent to coral gables. It seems the NCAA comittee sent yall back to Miami for the 2nd straight year, atleast it will be a close trip for ya'll.

Good luck to you too my southern friend….you'll need it if we throw Storey on Friday. We both know how important this first game is….it's a must win if you want a shot at knocking off the C****. This is definitely the first year I'm happy about making the trip south to North Havana…I wasn't sure if we were going to make the tourney at all until I saw our name on Monday morning. Hopefully you guys travel well, cause we non-C**** need to band together!! See ya Friday chief.

And remember….you can't spell scum without UM.

Here's an article on Mississippi St. Looks like they've already decided on their starter for Game 1 against FAU.

http://www.sunherald.c…e_university/11776158.htm

Probable starters:
Mississippi State (40-20)
RHP Alan Johnson, 4-6, 4.39 ERA, 64Ks, 82 IP
Florida Atlantic (36-22)
RHP Mickey Storey, 9-1, 1.77 ERA, 75 Ks, 86.1 IP

We don't have a dominate starter. I hope Johnson can just keep it close. Msu pitching staff had an incredible performence in Sec tournament. I think they wound up with a 1.33 era for the 4 games against LSU , South Carolina , Tennessee and Scum. I think Florida Atlantic and Miami are as good or better than those teams. Your game one starter will probably be the best picther we've seen all year with the exception of Luke Hochevar of tennessee.

FAU still may go with left-hander Chris Salberg against MSU's lefty-dominated lineup. Chris was spectacular in the A-Sun tournament, going 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in two starts. We'll have to wait and see what Cooney decides.

FAU can't host a regional until they renovate their stadium. The capacity at FAU Field is only 2,000 - not including the berms - which isn't big enough to even be considered. I have no doubt that when the new stadium is done, Cooney will be the first one in line to hand in FAU's bid to host a regional.

Maybe then (sc)UM will have to make the drive up I-95 for a change.

This is like a chess macth, the question is if you win the first game and face UM you want to have your best pitcher available for UM and this is no disrespect to Miss. St., but UM has been a major torn in our sides in these regionals.

If we happen to lose the first game, it could be a tall task for our pitching staff, but you have to remain hopeful that they have enough will.

I say save storey for miami. if we lose two in a row so be it, I think are best shot is throwing are best against the best. Personally if we have to lose I would atleast like to take a game from miami to make them earn it.
