First time EVER we have beaten a # 1 in ANY sport in school history!

Just a sign of things to come… get used to it UM FAU has arrived!

What an awesome win. What will this mean for us in terms of national rankings?

OB  really saved us tonight. Cooney said before the game he only expected him to go 3 then he'll take it from there. He really saved us and now our pen and our top starters are rested for the Troy series

It would depend on how we do this weekend against Troy. If we lose 2 of 3 its not going to do very much to help us

In all reality we probably need to use these last few games weve won and go on a 10+ game winning streak to be able to poke our heads in any polls.  The pollsters usually look for consistency when it comes to college baseball. 

taking 2-of-3 from south alabama AT mobile and now miami AT miami will help us a lot

what we need to crack the polls, IMO:

- sweep troy at home… that's a must… ranked teams protect their home
- beat miami at home
- sweep NYIT in four when we go there… beat teams you are SUPPOSED to beat

if we win those 8 in a row and are sitting at 27-11, we're ranked… easily

the schedule looks favorable for us in the next 2 weeks… home against troy and miami and then a division II (?? are they DII) team in NYIT

Yeah DII, and dont really see the "benefit" of playing them…especially if we get to the bubble (where strength of schedule factors in) and it keeps us from at large consideration…that will not help any?

It's going to take a lot more than that to be ranked.  Receiving votes? Maybe. But definitely not Top 25 if we sweep our next two series, its going to take a lot more than that.  In 1999, we broke the record for most consecutive wins and finished 54-9 and weren't even Top 10 then.

(in my scenario), in 1999 we did not beat a #1 team THERE and at home and sweep a very good Troy team…
