taking 2-of-3 from south alabama AT mobile and now miami AT miami will help us a lot

what we need to crack the polls, IMO:

- sweep troy at home… that's a must… ranked teams protect their home
- beat miami at home
- sweep NYIT in four when we go there… beat teams you are SUPPOSED to beat

if we win those 8 in a row and are sitting at 27-11, we're ranked… easily

the schedule looks favorable for us in the next 2 weeks… home against troy and miami and then a division II (?? are they DII) team in NYIT

It's going to take a lot more than that to be ranked.  Receiving votes? Maybe. But definitely not Top 25 if we sweep our next two series, its going to take a lot more than that.  In 1999, we broke the record for most consecutive wins and finished 54-9 and weren't even Top 10 then.

We were not playing in the SunBelt then.

Yeah… and no one back then was saying if we sweep a D-II school we'll be ranked either.

Just saying… have your own opinion, but I don't see it, at least not yet.  The polls are never fair, and its about exposure.

If we beat Miami next week at home, then we can start thinking about it.  But unless we sweep Troy, NYIT, beat Miami, South Florida and then sweep WKU… we won't crack top 25.

What are we? 4-6 on the road? If we were 8-2 I'd feel differently.

I was at the game and I think that FAU was VERY lucky that it was a really windy night down in Miami. The wind was blowing towards left field and since most to UMs top hitters are lefty's and most of their hits going towards right field, the wind was more than happy to blow them back into outfield.

AMEN…  ANDDDDD…

(in my scenario), in 1999 we did not beat a #1 team THERE and at home and sweep a very good Troy team…

9 years later, much different story and in my scenario we would be ranked, i honestly think

We haven't swept a "very good" Troy team and we haven't beaten UM at home yet. Whether we were in the sunbelt back in '99 or not doesn't matter. I was at most of those games during the winning streak back in '99 and we had some great players. We were ranked as high as # 9 that year and it didn't matter what conference we played in.

Granted we didn't beat the # 1 team in the nation but unless this team goes on this amazing winning streak I don't think we're going to be ranked. Besides being ranked isn't everything if we can win the belt and move on to regionals and super regionals that's what I'm more concerned about

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

did it stop blowing when FAU hit the ball?

hahahahahahaha… apparently it did… especially when Block was at the plate hitting his two homeruns (he hit 2, right? too lazy to check the box score right now)

I bet he uses this excuse a lot during football season and just changes the name of the team.

I was at the game last night and "Virginia was very lucky when they beat us 48-0 to close out the orange bowl" It was very dark out so it was hard for our players to see.

Get a grip dude, you lost to a good FAU team get over it. It'd be 1 thing if we all said oh we're better then UM we should be ranked # 1 not them, but no one is saying that. We beat you fair in square

I bet Miami won't play us again for 4-5 years after this because we beat them again. After the last time when we stole home to beat them look how long it took them to finally agree to play us again.
