Hurricanes ranked No.1
You come on here claiming to be an FAU fan and then you say we got lucky because it was windy. That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Every theory you have had has been shot down. It was windy for right handed batters, maybe if UM had all left handed batters in their line up that would make sense but their top power hitter who the night before hit a game winning 2 run HR against FGCU is right handed.
Not only that it's hard to win, when you strike out 10x in a game. OB I think had 8 and I believe G-Troy had 2. No one here is saying we're better then Miami, we're clearly not better then them but is it that unrealistic for you that the # 1 team in the nation can lose a game to an unranked FAU?
It's not like UM was unbeaten and never lost to FAU they've lost a few other games to us besides this one over the last 10 years. I still don't get your reasoning for coming on here and making a RIDICULOUS statement like that and then you can't even back it up. All you can say is "I'm sorry I ever brought it up, forget I ever said anything".
Just admit that it is possible for Miami to lose. Just like it was possible for us to beat UNC, we didn't but we had the lead late in the game in 2 of 3 of those games.
May I ask why you call yourself an FAU fan if you are this adamant about this win for us as being lucky instead of being a good win or hopefully the sign of good things to come the rest of the season?
My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

taking 2-of-3 from south alabama AT mobile and now miami AT miami will help us a lot
what we need to crack the polls, IMO:
- sweep troy at home… that's a must… ranked teams protect their home
- beat miami at home
- sweep NYIT in four when we go there… beat teams you are SUPPOSED to beat
if we win those 8 in a row and are sitting at 27-11, we're ranked… easily
the schedule looks favorable for us in the next 2 weeks… home against troy and miami and then a division II (?? are they DII) team in NYIT
It's going to take a lot more than that to be ranked. Receiving votes? Maybe. But definitely not Top 25 if we sweep our next two series, its going to take a lot more than that. In 1999, we broke the record for most consecutive wins and finished 54-9 and weren't even Top 10 then.
We were not playing in the SunBelt then.
AMEN… ANDDDDD…
(in my scenario), in 1999 we did not beat a #1 team THERE and at home and sweep a very good Troy team…
9 years later, much different story and in my scenario we would be ranked, i honestly think
We haven't swept a "very good" Troy team and we haven't beaten UM at home yet. Whether we were in the sunbelt back in '99 or not doesn't matter. I was at most of those games during the winning streak back in '99 and we had some great players. We were ranked as high as # 9 that year and it didn't matter what conference we played in.
Granted we didn't beat the # 1 team in the nation but unless this team goes on this amazing winning streak I don't think we're going to be ranked. Besides being ranked isn't everything if we can win the belt and move on to regionals and super regionals that's what I'm more concerned about
I think they take the level of compition you are facing into account when deciding if a team should be ranked or not.
Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.
