hoot4fau,

It might do well to listen to the internet radio while you watch the game. Its probaly too late for this game but you can do this in future games.

on the bottom of the home page, click on "Sun Belt Team's Board" . Look for the WLVJ-AM link

Thanks. I'll try it. When I switch over to the audio feed from CSTV, it is lagging the video by 20-30 seconds. I'm not sure if that will happen when I go to the actual radio feed.

Well, not a good night for the Owls but this was the best Atlantic Sun team they have played. I'm sure they learned a few things. There is plenty of season left and this game gave the Owls some good experience against a good team.

When someone gets home from the game, what was the attendance?

Pathetic! thats the only word for our performance tonight. Shooting percentage was horrendous, free throws were terrible, and 3 pointers even worse. We made an adjustment defensively but couldnt capitalize offensively. Just an overall bad game. The attendence was the only positive thing and it was unfortunate that the product on the court didnt play better because the crowd was really involved from start to finish

Just got home from the game. FAU shot horribly and the defense played terrible for most of the 1st half. The 2nd half the defense keep us somewhat in the game but nobody could hot. Rice started to but could never really get it together. Monroe never did anything.

Crowd was the best I've seen at a BB game, quick guess– 2K+ and they really got into the game. Sounded like a real college game. That gym can actually get pretty loud with a few people.

Tough loss but tied with Lipscomb for 1st (Kennesaw doesn't qualify). If we can keep that type of crowd for the rest of the home games they should be fine.

GO OWLS!

something wasn't right. The owls can't shoot 60% one game then have a game like this without a good reason. Doherty will have to figure it out and make the corrections, what ever they are. I think he is capable of it.

In retrospect they were five wins in a row they are putting up some good numbers and playing as a team. Poop happens and it happened tonight but some of that pressure of keeping it going is over. ESPN with the coverage probably didn't help. They will get used to this type of exposure and pressures. A lot of first for this team and I agree they will do fine.
Better to get this out of the way before entering into the Belt.

FAU just shot horribly. I must have counted 10 missed lay-ups!

The Owls allowed too many offensive rebounds, could not hit the threes tried, and could not take advantage of many comeback possibilities.

They stopped trying threes inthe second half, when that was pretty much the only thing that would keep them in the game.

Someone explain to me why Doherty kept telling his players not to foul very late in the game, when that was probably the only way (albeit improbable) that FAU could come back. (The Owls got within 10 points a couple of times late, and perhaps once even within 8 points.) Even with 1:30 to play, :33 to play, he was yelling for them not to foul.

The crowd was the largest and looudest I have ever witnessed at an FAU game, making the atmosphere excellent. Two sections of students (at least one on each side) got a lot of cheers going and played off each other - and not just the "defense, defense!" cheers. They - along with the band which always cheers - rattled Liscomb a bit and it got very loud at times.

I'd say 2,000 would be a good crowd estimate. Parking was almost scarce.

I didn't see Frank Brogan but was told he spends most of his time upstairs lately. I wanted to ask him why he hasn't responded to my letter about the band director.

Everyone has said it already, they were just off tonight. Right out of the gates, just dead. Lipscomb had two players that were unstoppable shooters too, they just didn't miss. Carlos Monroe needs to toughen up, he was getting pushed around again!
I can't tell you how great it was to be in the gym tonight, except for the UM game two years ago, I haven't seen this many people at an FAU game and it was loud. The crowd was in it and if Quinton Young had hit that three he shot after the steal when we were down 12 with 3 or 4 minutes left in the game the roof would have blown off! We were set to make a run right then. We'll see 'em again this weekend!

Doherty, Angelos, Brogan and even Schnellenberger have to be happy about the attendance increase. It gives more fuel to get the dome going. This was a Tuesday night that attracted 2000+ people.
