Miami comes into Boca

One of the biggest difference has been - UNC & UM finishes games, we need to learn to shut the down when we have a chance.  So close, one out away from pulling out the upset victory, this is something that the players can definitely take something from which should help make a big difference late on in the season.

we need to a legit stadium in order to attract those players to FAU.

I don't think so.  The problem is… great players either go to a college where there's much more exposure (bigger conference, nationally ranked year in and year out, etc) or they go to the pro's.

It just so happens a lot of our great recruits have opted for the MLB draft out of high school.

Facilities don't really change that.  Winning, going deep into super regionals year after year and things will take care of themselves.

I agree with Fledge. The TOP prospects will either get drafted or go to a big name school, or if they get drafted, but in like the 27th round,  even go to a community college. BCC is STACKED with talent because so many of the kids there got drafted and just want to improve their draft status. Rian Kiniry was like that, he was supposed to sign with us, out of BCC, but got a higher draft pick. A side not, he is playing for Owls…just a AA club in the Angels oranization called the OwlZ.

Marcus Nelson's story says the attendance was 2,348. Awesome crowd, except most FAU fans didn't stick it out for the whole game. The only people left with us on the berm at the end of the game were two obnoxious UM fans running their mouths after Alonso's home run. (Oh and one Benedict Arnold FAU "fan" who went over to the UM fans to shake hands, lifted up his FAU jacket to show them his UM shirt. Hope you're on this board because you're a douche too.)

Did that really happen? What a jackass.

My deep hatred for Miami continues. If we do not win the sunbelt and do not get a bid... i hate to say it, but you can give Miami credit for ending our season once again.

I have to disagree, facilities make a very big impact for a lot of high school recruits in college baseball.  With coach Cooney and nicer facilties, FAU would probably make a significant step up in college baseball status.

Consider this:

Take UCONN, they have built a complete indoor facility for players to practice all winter long in, with a digital pitching machines:

One of the "state-of the art" baseball facilities and are 19-19 right now.

Why can't they get better recruits if they have one of the best facilties in the Country?

To me, coaching matters more than facilities.

Here's how I'd rank it.

1. Exposure (conference, television, rankings)
2. Coaching (winning coaches, long reputations)
3. Facilities
4. Location
5. Academics

I think a lot of the recruiting process has to deal with the recruit

Re: Miami comes into Boca

It sucks that we lost, but hopefully the guys learned something from this game and will use it.  Our RPI did go up to 50, despite the loss.  Let's go beat this teams up in New York.  I really dislike all new york teams.
