Pepe Freezes Bison; Owls Prepare For #2 Miami

Pepe Freezes Bison; Owls Prepare For #2 Miami

The tune up game served it's purpose tonight as FAU handily defeated the Bison of North Dakota State by a final score of 7-3.

Despite trailing in the top half of the first, the Owls got off fast start in the bottom half of the inning by loading the bags and answering with four runs to counter the Bison attack.

North Dakota plated solo runs in the fifth, and seventh innings - narrowing the gap to 5-3.  But FAU squelched that effort with a two run eighth inning performance.

Each Owl starter registered a hit on the night.  David Wilson went 3 of 5 while doubling for the fourth time this season.  Tom Hatcher was 3 of 4 and knocked in three runs.

North Dakota threatened in the seventh inning, but FAU reliever Alex Pepe struck out two and forced a groundball to get out of a bases-loaded, no out jam.

The Bison had won five straight games coming into tonight's contest.

Florida Atlantic returns to action this Wednesday and will host the No. 2 ranked Miami Hurricanes.
