Robbie got the win but Marc Stewart left the game ties 3-3. He should of had the lead 4-3 if we had properly executed a sac bunt . It failed and only one run score on Kerr's single. But those two pitchers were right on tonight. CJ's double was to deep short stop. No error . Had to be ruled a double. Already have the series. Now lets take game three Saturday. Our pitchers look very confident right now. Great job by all the coaches.

Failed to mention Gunner Lambert's HR. His first. A no doubter. Right fielder didn't even run. He turned and watched.Great to see. Way to go Gunner.

I have a question that may sound a little off track. Do most college baseball teams use their players as part of the grounds crew or is it the smaller programs or smaller budget schools? Just curious?

Virtually all teams use the players. Coach Murray noted today that when putting the tarp back on the field prior to the first game, that we were doing so while "It's a Beautiful Day" was playing over the PA.

When taking the tarp off, I suggested to Coach Mamula that perhaps we should do like polo, which has the fans come out to replace diviots, to have fans come out to put the tarp on and off the field. He explained to me that the purpose was to gain more fans, not drive them away.  :Big-Grin:

Also overlooked is the fact that FAU is winning without starting CF Billy Endris. John has plugged in Jose BT, moved the batting order , and we are still winning. Hope he returns before our trip to Va. for ODU. FAU, ODU, and SMU are all solid teams with lots of talent.

Owls take it!

Labsan gets the win, and House, Carr and Nowatnick each toss a frame giving up only one collective hit.

Chatham and Dicks accounted for an RBI each and Puerta was 2-3 with a run scored.

Two important non-conference games up next for the Owls, who should rise again in the polls after this weekend.

I am not keen on the idea of having to play at FGCU Tuesday & then home against the Hurricanes on Wednesday. It's like we have to travel to play our home game and use some pitching up on Tuesday. Hate it actually. If it wasn't the Hurricanes it wouldn't be as big of a deal for me, but I would like to take advantage of that opportunity better than we are.

I've been thinking that since I saw it. Makes no sense.  I would want to line up my pitchers up for UM. Remember, FGCU is no cake walk.

Looks like a good chance of rain this afternoon over there. Let's just call them and tell them we will catch them on another day.
