Troy is 11-3 with the No. 7 RPI, but does not even have any votes?

This is a big political pile of dung.

Re: The USA TODAY/ESPN Top 25 baseball coaches' poll

I don't see troy no. 7 RPI according to NCAA Division I Baseball -- Pseudo-RPI's

Where do you see #7?

They really haven't beaten anyone solidly.  Good win over Alabama, but that went extras. A loss to a bad FIU team and a close 13-12 win.  Yeah, I can see not getting any votes….

Compare them to Jacksonville who is receiving votes at 10-1. The Dolphins are outscoring their opponents 101-43 in 11 games, with tough one run loss to UCF and bounced back for a 10-5 win.  UCF's only loss.

Plus… it also helps to play in these invitational tournaments… more coaches got their eyes on you as well as writers.  :)

The USA TODAY/ESPN Top 25 baseball coaches' poll

Troy swept Rhode Island, beat FIU in two of three (12-3 yesterday), Kennesaw, Wake Forest and Penn State (two Wiregrass Invitational wins).

Troy's strength of schedule (SOS) is 59th out of 297 teams, according to WarrenNolan.com. FIU ranks 10th in SOS, and FAU is 254. How can that be?

UCF is 190, and USF is 150. FAMU is 131. UF is 113. Gulf Coast is 99. North Florida is 79. FSU s 54.

The RPI info came from the Troy board. I cannot confirm it, but WarrenNolan.com has Troy's current RPI at 24.

Florida RPI
Florida State (12-0) ………. 5  (Poll: No. eight)
Florida (10-3)………………. 48 (Poll: No. 43)
Florida Gulf Coast (8-2)…… 32
Florida Int. (4-9)…………… 60
Florida Atlantic (7-4)…….. 195
FAMU (0-8)………………… 264

From Baseball America:
Q: Jonathan from Troy asks:
I know they haven't faced the stiffest competition so far, but you have to be impressed with what Troy has done to start the year 8-1. The ERA is around the 2.00 mark and the hitters are doing just enough. You see good things out of this team?

A: John Manuel: Actually, it's decent competition—Wake Forest is the loss, Penn State should be solid this year and is a really veteran team, and Kennesaw State has some talent. Troy got to Kennesaw's Kyle Heckathorn, who came on in relief in the finale of that weekend and could be a first-round pick in '09. The Trojans have been stingy on the mound, and they usually don't beat themselves because they are well-coached. Good program and so far it looks like a good team.

This SOS ranking seems to be ridiculous.  I am going to email this Warren guy to figure out how he came up with these numbers, he clearly should stick to basketball.

Did you ever get a response on how this jackass comes up with his RPI and SOS numbers.  Ive always viewed this guys stuff, at least baseball wise as garbage.  He also had the mtsu fans all excited coming into the series with us because he had them as high as 19 and had us at something like 156.  Well we all saw how that worked out.  His polls have never even been close to the actual scheme of things when it comes to college baseball.

Nope, I never got a response from him… I wrote him twice.  Once asking him how he goes about his rankings, etc. the second time basically calling him out on making NO sense with most team rankings.
