4-star RB Jordan Scarlett decommits from FAU

I have a feeling he ends up at South Carolina, but I hope he picks Miami.  I want the chance to play against him and will help build to the rivalry.

Not sure a 7-5 team the last 10 years can carry him on thier backs however.  He might find the reason he didn't come to FAU is exactly what happens at Miami.

He is 17 years old, I know the dumb mistakes I made at that age.

How about we try to keep it classy.  I didn't love the comment he made either but it sounds like something a 17 year old that is being sucked up to by many coaches would say.  Let it go, time to move on.

GO OWLS!

Agreed, Im happy nothing I said at 17 could be held against me.  The kid is basically getting "serviced" by every program and thier coaches in the country…doesn't suprise me his ego has grown.

Also think he mistakenly and unwitingly took a shot at his "father figure" Coach H. If he wants the NFL he is gonna need to carry the ball 20 times a game ANYWHERE he plays and I think there is a higher probability of injury playing 10 games vs. the "BigBoys", great point about Duke and Lattimore! AND LESS CHANCE at going the NFL route early if ya sit the bench two years.
Sorry to s y decommit Jordan. Keep your options open is a good thing - INCLUDING FAU!

+2  If you are upset about the decision making of a 17 year old…you should probably not have kids!

Agree.  If this upsets you it's time to stop following recruiting.  Especially with an aggressive coach like Partridge.  This happens to every school, every year.  If you can't handle a teenager flip flopping, recruiting is a crazy thing!

Just my two cents…

I was very surprised by this, but the timing makes sense. In 34 days, FAU could have put an early financial-aid agreement in front of him and asked him to sign it. It didn't get to that point, but you have to wonder what would have happened.

I thought the relationship he had with Harriott would be enough (ex: this), but it's difficult when everyone is recruiting against you. However, what caught me off guar, was that he said he was no long considering FAU. I wouldn't be surprised if he's on campus sometime before September. An official visit isn't out of the question. Heck, FAU almost got a player who signed with Clemson last year in for an official.

As for the rest of the "Fab 15" - I don't see Archer going anywhere. Miami just took a string of commits and didn't even offer Archer. The one player I would be concerned with however is Parr. It has no immediate relation to the Scarlett situation, but coaches have to be telling him the same type of things.

FAU would be foolish to fund an official visit for Scarlett at this point unless it guaranteed he was bringing a stud along we actually had a shot at signing.  Also, Jordan would be foolish using one of his five official visits on FAU if his heart is set at playing at a big time school.  The kid is gone and I think more of the level headed posters understood that early on.  See my post from a few days back in the main Scarlett thread.  Schools have been on him for a very long time and his top choices have probably been decided for some time.

I think he did his job for the coaches.  He got us A LOT of recruiting press, a lot of kids on campus and a lot of kids to verbally commit that we would not have looked at under the previous regime.

Just signed on to the news. Not a big surprise. His choice. Lets not loose site of the fact that we just signed some very very good RB's in February. We are not hurting at that position. I think Jordan's notoriety was a big plus for FAU. We will survive. Go Owls! Stay the coarse. Two more months till FOOTBALL !
