The Owls have landed another local commitment in that of Okeechobee athlete Veyon Washington.
This commitment continues a trend in FAU's coaching staffs philosophy of recruiting ''athletes first" as Washington has played quarterback, wide receiver, and running back at Okeechobee, but recently told Jon Stanucci of the TCPalm after being selected to their preseason Super 11, he feels cornerback is his best position.
Washington, who was offered by FAU back in March and comes in at 5-10 and 180 lbs, is a three-sport athlete as he plays basketball and runs track along with playing football. He was also a member of the Treasure cost Elite 7on7 football team.
The speedy athlete will also get to chance to play against family when he joins the FAU football team as his cousin and fellow Okeechobee High alum, Bubba Fludd currently plays cornerback for conference foe Southern Mississippi.
Washington becomes the 6th commit of the 2020 Cycle for FAU, joining Quarterback Anthony Romph, Running Back Frank Gore Jr., offensive linemen Andre Lamas, wide receiver Justin McKithen, and defensive back Charles Tombs.

Veyon Washington has decommited from FAU's 2020 class.
All I will say it was a mutual decision by both sides.
