Deerfield Beach 3* DB Marcus Lafrance Commits to FAU Football's Class of 2019

Marcus Lafrance
DB
6-3, 175 lbs
Deerfield Beach, FL
Deerfield Beach

Visited Boca Raton May 31st, and later  announced a final six of Iowas State, Pitt, Western Kentucky, Ole Miss, Bowling Green, and the Owls before making his pledge to the latter on July 7, 2018.

Was recruited by former head coach Charlie Partridge, who is now at Pitt.

Would be one of the highest rated HS recruits (maybe the highest?) we ever landed if he sticks.

Although I'm a huge fan of winning and bringing in jucos and transfers etc, the old fashion way of building a team is high school recruiting. We must have a dozen or so big time high schoolers every class.

Decomitted smh. Can't really ever be too sure with highly ranked early recruits, but still…

Partridge was just down here…

Even came to a practice…coincidence?

Probably not. I think this year it's time to land at least 1 or 2 of these really high caliber hs recruits. I am wary of the JUCOs now.

When you see kids like this stick is when you know we’ve officially turned the corner as a program.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Agreed. I think this is an important class for Lane.

He had Pitt in his final six…Partridge was just down here…the more I think about this, the more I am leaning towards not only losing our best defensive player, but also this kid during the visit period.

Coach P needs to stay home!

Maybe. To me it's a strange move to decommit without immediately committing elsewhere.

He also decomitted after our second conference loss - one in which we didn't look very good either - and whereas he might have initially been excited about joining Lane Kiffin's nationally-discussed FAU team, we've taken a step back and things have quieted down. That was my first thought when I read his post.

But who knows.
