Look, you can't win if you don't play the lottery. If we don't take chances pursuing any big time recruits we will settle with the 2* "hidden gems" FOREVER!

Even if it is a long shot, good for them and you never know…. if we don't get this one, we may get the next!

I agree with NC. Always worth a shot. Sometimes if you're the first school to make him in an offer and then all of a sudden some of the big schools come calling and offer him months later. He may say FAU believed in me before any of the big schools did. Again it could also depend on what each schools QB situation is. This kid knows he can come in and battle with MG III for the starting QB spot, assuming Melvin continues on at FAU and doesn't look to go elsewhere

I like that we are putting our name out there, whether or not we actually get these guys.  The way I see it our message board is like a lot of the ones at other smaller programs.  We are reading "Jake Waters has offers from FAU, kansas St., UF, UGA (for ex.)"  That line is also being spread all over the other teams message boards and local papers.  I think that seeing the FAU name pop up more often with these larger schools may hopefully make a couple of players consider the "ride the pine at UF or start at FAU" argument.  It's probably wishful thinking but it can't hurt. 

Good point, just being in the hunt is worthwhile from a branding perspective.
