FAU Official Visitors List 1/12: QB Todd Porter Visiting

For those wondering where the recruits are staying on their official visits, it's at the Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort.

Chamberlin DB Ronnie Scott said, "the hotel was crazy it was amazing."

Talk about a weekend…

Port St. Luice QB DJ Juste took an official visit to FAU and won MVP for the American team in the Palm Beach County-Treasure Coast All-Star Football Game on Saturday night.

Still waiting to hear back how the visit went.

Juste said the visit was "amazing."

He was hosted by LB Freedom Whitefield. The two played Little League together and against each other in high school.

Landing Juste would be an awesome addition to the roster. Thanks for all the info.

Andrew, just curious...what are the negatives you are hearing?

I haven't really heard any negatives from the recruits, but that's something that I really don't ask about.

I'm sure I could start trying to ask more open ended questions, which would probably provide some good insight for everyone.

Negatives, well… "It was good" could mean "I wasn't that impressed but I don't want to bite the hand that feeds, just in case…"

Every kid enjoyed their visit, every kid thought the school was nice and every kid had fun. No one says that place sucked or isn't for me, no one.

I actually think the OL FIU commit had a weird tweet, "not bad fau" that's it? Not bad? I was hoping for a bit more but I guess he doesn't want to lose his scholarship to FIU by gushing over how awesome our campus is.

I may just be speculating but "not bad FAU" is probably more sarcstic. He is not saying we were not horrible, instead saying, "wow, did not expect so much," which should also mean he liked us more than fiu.

PS: Kudos to Austin Bland.

Re: FAU Official Visitors List 1/12: QB Todd Porter Visiting

There is nothing wrong with giving negative feedback.  If they dont like something and say it we need to know.  Remember…WE ARE SELLING THESE KIDS.  If you have ever been in sales you know that negative feedback is not only part of it but something you better take as a challenge.

Lets remember these are 17 year old kids that often have 5-7 schools begging for them to come.  I doubt they are shy about saying "the weight room facility sucks and they dont get people to the games".

The key to improving the recruiting of our program is to listen very closely to negative recruiting and attack the issues.  Lets find out what these kids, parents and high schools coaches dont like and FIX it!
