It's been quiet... almost too quiet...

I have full faith in our coaches' ability to recruit and I am sure we will have a good class come in. I am just wondering why or even how its been so quiet to this point? I haven't heard anything about visits, offers, anything really. The most I have seen in a long time that was noteworthy was coach trickett tweeting about the counties he was out recruiting during the bye week. What is the deal with the whole "keep your commitment a secret" strategy? How, with so many young kids getting recruited has not but one of them decided he could't wait any longer and announced his commitment?

An Auburn fan I work with told me hes heard in his circles that that Schwartz kid from Heritage has us in his final four…I have seen nothing about it but if it’s true, let them stay silent!

This time of the year it is generally more about the kids who are coming to watch games on unofficial visits more so than burning up the recruiting trail.  We had a huge influx of talent come in for this season (some signed all the way up to what seemed like kickoff of the Navy game), and we already know of a handful of players who are either hurt or are sitting out the year due to transfer who should be "new" players for us next season.  I haven't looked real hard at the roster for Seniors, but given how many new faces we already have will we expect a smaller than normal class next year?  If the staff is all back (I expect that), and they go for all transfers, that could be a sign of "win now" rather than "build a program".  But as everybody knows, winning makes the building a whole lot easier.

Geez. I do see that we haven't recruited a whole lot of guys yet, so this is good to see. Hopefully we don't lean on an overly-heavy JUCO and transfer class this year, but can let some guys come in and develop so there's no drop-off in talent.

Nice. And to clarify, I hope we DO get JUCOs, I just don't want to be too heavy with them.

hey guys, we already have our QB of the future - probably next year in fact - in Robeson. IF he were plying now we would win all of our remaining games, he is THAT GOOD! Oh, and a certain JUCO QB named Johnson coming back from injury too. WE ARE SET AT QB - FILL THE LINES UP COACHES - BOTH OL AND DL!!!!
