Re: JUCO QB prospect

WOW, now that would be exciting stuff if we can sign him and start him for two years while the young qb's learn and grow! Quick, great feet, escapeable qb who keeps his eyes downfield and has a nice arm, zips it or with touch. Oh, and the pooch kick was pretty good too!
Smart of him to know he can start NOW here too!

Re: JUCO QB prospect

This would be a huge, HUGE deal if we could land this guy. 6'5, 215 dual-threat quarterback? Guy's amazing.

According to this link, "Quarterback Melvin German of Fort Myers, Fla., has committed to Florida Atlantic, but won’t join the FAU squad until the summer after he meets academic standards after the spring semester at PRCC."

Re: JUCO QB prospect

"Pearl River QB Melvin German, the nephew of former USA Today Player of the Year and Miami Hurricane Jammi German, is one of the most exciting players in the junior college ranks. Last year was a big year for German, who a junior college All-American and lead the nation in passing with over 2,700 yards.

"Melvin is tall (6-3, 190 pounds) and athletic," Pearl River coach Tim Hatten said. "He's got a quick release and is very mobile. He's getting a lot of Division I interest and someone will pull the trigger with him, especially with the success Cam Newton had with Auburn.""- Mississippi junior colleges are loaded

Saw elsewhere that over the summer he held offers from Purdue and Mississippi State. My guess is those schools have backed off because of the academic uncertainties. He looks like a STUD!

Well then, the plot thickens at the QB position.

Sounds like a great player but if hes having trouble getting into FAU then his D1 hopes are pretty slim!

"According to recent reports" he hasn't actually committed here.

Re: JUCO QB prospect

Not sure if I'm a fan of QBs with academic issues. Other positions maybe, QB not so much.
Every site you look at lists a different height.
