OWLS 2011 NLI (24 Signed)

The answer as to why FIU and passed us on the field and in recruiting is the following quote;
"Most coaches tend to hedge when asked how many of their new signees are going to be able to play their first year on campus.

Not FIU coach Mario Cristobal.

He said he expects every one of the 25 signees that make up his "best recruiting class" in his five seasons to be on the two-deep at some point next fall."

Granted we beat them again this past year but that was our one and only complete game of the twelve.

I honestly hope that our recruits pull through, but the fact is still that no top recruit will go to a program where he is basically told he will not play for a year or more, especially when that program is a SunBelt program, peresently a weak one at that!

Go Owl's, and welcome to all the new Owl's, work and practice hard and earn your playing time THIS YEAR!

Didn't we crush them this year to make our record vs them 9-1???  They went 6-6, people talk like the won 10 games.  They havent surpassed anything.

Re: OWLS 2011 NLI (24 Signed)

C'mon get real, yes we beat them in our only complete game of the season, but who went to a and won a bowl game and who sat home and was real lucky to be 4-8, we could of EASILY been 1-11, in fact only 3 points kept us from that!

I hate FIU and I hate that they have passed us on the field and in recruiting, 8-5 and the NO bowl is four years past now, we have to move forard and stop looking back. Isn't ist sad and why aren't you a bit mad that for such a young program, our glory days are that far past us.

Thank God for the new stadium being built but this recruiting class is NO different than the past four or more years - two maybe three 3 star players and the rest 2 with MANY recruited or offered by nobody.

Does anyone realize that we signed no players form the last two weekends of on-campus visits, even with the stadium construction and the nationally televised BB game. Was that because they turned us down, no - they were such a weak lot we did'nt even offer and none have signed with a d-1 program. There was no talent there, now what is up with that??????? While other programs were wooing and solidifying their most important recruits or trying to flip others from their commits to other schools, what were we doing?????????????????

C'mon folks…Did we really think that a few thousand pounds of concrete and steel, that is starting to resemble a stadium, would bring in 4 and 5 star recruits??!! Next year is the telltale year. We will have played some games in the stadium, and we won't have to sell kids on a dream, but on reality. The experience in the stadium means more to recruits than the look of it ( a 4 cylinder Ferrari comes to mind). When we get a kid to a sit and watch a game, then we can see what kind of shift our stadium has on recruiting. Until then, we need to do our job and drop a deposit on a season ticket and show up to the games next season….
