QB for next year

So at this point assuming Melvin German is eligible and Juste commits, I would like to see people's predictions on what the depth chart will look like. As far as I know the options are: Quez johnson, Melvin German, Steven curtis, DJ Juste(assume he commits), and Greg Hankerson? Let the Speculation begin

Re: QB for next year

I believe Juste/Johnson/Hankerson/German will battle it out for starter and fully expect it to be a wide-open battle during Spring. German's star has faded, though everyone's still interested to see what he can do.

Curtis may be in the mix if he shows tremendous strides from where he was last year. It's possible that he can pull a Graham Wilbert and become "the guy" during Spring practices, and I would imagine most incumbent QBs think they have not only an inherent advantage but also a duty to show up the new guys.

The Spring Game is going to be interesting this year. Hope the weather cooperates this time because standing under those bleachers for an hour was brutal.

I think German is the most talented out of that group and would be my favorite to start...

Re: QB for next year

I think you're all crazy if you think German plays a single snap for us.

Quez will be the starter, Hankerson will RS because it would be silly not to, IF Juste commits he'll likely play WR as Andrew has pointed out and Curtis will be the back up

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: QB for next year

We have 5 receivers already committed, Idk why they would make Juste a receiver. As for German, My prediction is tentative to if he is eligible or not. If he isn't Id say bump everyone up and Curtis doesn't transfer

I don't think Melvin will be eligible. Either way they brought in quez because they know something we don't. it's also dumb to assume Curtis is just out. he has had a year of practice reps in the system. I'm interested to see how those have paid off for him.
  1. Quez Johnson
  2. Stephen Curtis
  3. Melvin German
  4. Both freshman should redshirt if they stay at qb. and I won't be irresponsible and rank one ahead of another before they even come to campus

If it came down to redshirting Hankerson or Juste, I think they would obviously redshirt Hankerson. Juste could be the 3-4th string quarterback while also seeing some snaps at WR. He will get a shot first at quarterback, but could have a faster road to playing time at WR. Just something to think about.

Re: QB for next year

I wonder how the coaches will treat these qb's since they've shown little remorse with cutting scholarships for ones they didn't think would play. Though obviously they weren't the coaches who recruited the cut qbs.

Re: QB for next year

What makes some of you experts on Germans eligibility? All of some of you guys posts are always negative towards him, but if he does play and lead this team you will be the first one on his bandwagon. Unless, you are his professors giving him his grades you are no expert on his eligibility so leave it alone. It's old already!
