QB for next year

No, what's old is everyone thinking this kid is some kind of savior or super hero. No one is an expert, I just know what his grades were last semester and I know that you shouldn't hold your breath thinking he's going to play. Everyone is putting so much faith into this kid and he's never thrown a pass during a game , nonetheless even stepped on the field for a regular season game.

I'm sure he's a good kid and I hope he gets his act together because if football doesn't work out for him hopefully he has a degree to fall back on. I can tell you from a personal standpoint that school is not for everyone.

I hope he does prove me wrong, but just don't count on it

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: QB for next year

MG3 all day he is the fastest and maneuverable of the qbs. Jaquez is a solid QB as backup. I would be happy with either one as qb either way it will be an upgrade to the 36th qb prospect for the NFL. Once MG3 is breaking tackles and whipping by guys with dreds then I will be confident we will tear it up in C-USA!

Boca Raton Home of your friendly neighborhood FAU.

I like your vision there, hope it is an omen for the Owls! Graham did a real "nice" job for the Owls his senior season and I am happy for him, very few listakes, but he is not the game changer we needed (actually still need).

Even if you do know his grades,  I think that is something you should keep to yourself and not use it to bash Melvin.  I pray everyday for all of them to have much success.  You on the other hand, sound like you have a personal axe to grind about him.  Out of curiosity, do you know Melvin? Or just don't like him…… Your ending is quite positive, but a little too late after your ranting about his grades or lack thereof.

Re: QB for next year

MomOwl I think you're a great lady and I know you care a lot about the players and this team, but this is a thread about our QBs for next year and Melvin is still technically one of them. I am sorry that you are bothered by this, but if I know any information pertaining to his grades I am going to post it. This is a forum about FAU, it's players, it's recruits and the opinions expressed by the fans.

Not everyone is going to agree or like what others have to say. I have never bashed him personally or said I don't like him. If you have read all of the posts on the countless topics about Melvin, like I have, you will see numerous comments about how amazing he is and how he will help us win 6 or 7 games, and maybe he will, who knows. There's nothing wrong with being optimistic, but sometimes we have to face a reality where what we wish and what want may not always come to fruition.

Again, you may not like what I have to say and you don't have to. You have every right to disagree with me or anyone else on this forum. However, I never called him out personally nor did I say I do not like him as a person. My feelings about him as the QB have nothing to do with him as a person

Don't mistake what I am saying.  I have a son on that team and in order for him to succeed, they all have to succeed.  Yes this is about qbs, but still you are personally attacking one of them.  Until is it really said and done, Melvin is still a part of the team and an Owl, if his status changes, then so be it.  So with that said, I think we have a pretty good group of qbs, some that can come in and contribute, others who will grow, mature and are the future.  And again you spoke of his grades, not of his qb abilities.  But, no hard feelings, just merely stating my opinion as you are.  Salute the Hoot.

I'd buy one! Hell, I'll buy anything FAU, ask Mark. Hopefully I helped make that down payment on the new storefront.

Re: QB for next year

I think as fans that's all we can do is be optimistic. If we doubt our team and have anything but an optimistic outlook A) you're really not going to enjoy watching them, but B) the players will pick up on that same negative attitude they see the fans with. Auburn fans are looked down upon by bama fans, it's no secret but do you think that stops auburns fans from still claiming they are better? Fans play a vital role in the game as well, that's why Texas A&M has the 12th man. Have the attitude about the program that you wish its players did. Keep the negative stuff out of here.
