Re: QB for next year

QB for next year

Hopefully we will get a peek during spring at the two current QBs and hopefully it is promising what we see .  I don't know if Coach Pelini is going to have open practices or not.  March 18th the clock starts ticking!

While QB is undoubtedly the most important position and we are not secure at the moment…our OLine is basically inexperienced and will need to learn fast for us to be sucessful no matter who the QB is.

If MGIII or Jaquez starts at QB, I will not be too concern because these two guys actually led teams and have some type of college football game experience. The challenge for the QB is learning the playbook so that our offense won't resort to basic play calling and become predictable.

I will agree the young OL is more of a concern. Whoever the QB maybe, he will need a decent OL to move the ball and minimize turnovers in order for us to compete and come close to my prediction of 0.500 season.

Weve got Mustafa, stern and Swagoo from the last class as well as one or two hs recruits that hooefully can contribute. This years ol class is all young, but maybe Austin Bland can step in right away, he has spent the last year blocking Bosa in practice and youd be hard pressed to find a better defensive lineman in CUSA right now.

Re: QB for next year

Did Ragoo and Johnson even play last year? I can't remember if they did or not. Also, don't forget about Brandon Lyons. The OL we got from the JUCO ranks in this class. Hopefully he steps in and does a nice job.

Mustafa Johnson started all but one game at center. Ragoo didn't play along with Stern Vile.

Vile played some as a sub. I think we had the biggest back-up line in the nation! ;)

Well hopefully Ragoo, Johnson, Vile, Lyons and Bland are a good enough starting 5 to compete

Re: QB for next year

We are not THAT depleted on the O line; in addition to the five listed above returning this year as Seniors are Joseph Bailey (290), Chris Chappell (320), Jimmie Colley (295) DeAndre Williams (290), and as Sophmores are Mohammed Farrah (285), Mike Marsaille (300).

If true that is too bad - I wanted to see him at DT personally!
