Is it considered a safety or just a two-point conversion in the other direction?
Technically it's a 2 pt. conversion but it's the same 2 pts I guess it doesn't matter much what you call it
My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: Game Day: FAU vs North Texas
The beginning of the game things where a bit shaky though - We where outplaying North Texas yet they where right in the game & with the VanCamp INT made it looked like it was going to be another one of these LONG LONG day at Lockhart.
With the blocked extra point that was converted for two points for the Owls, it seemed to have generated a much needed sparks these Owls have been missing.
And two BIG plays by Daniel Joseph on Defense to help spark the defense to play solid for the remainder of the game. And what can you say about the reserves on defense - they continued to play inspired ball, only to give-up that last minute TD without first making the Mean Green earn every inch & ALMOST did snuff them on 4th and inches at the end of the game.
Pierre had himself another solid game - 12 carries for 140 yards, with some newcomers getting some reps:
- Avionne Rolle 3 carries for 15 yards
- Alfred Morris 4 carries for 18 yards
- Jeff Blanhard 5 carries for 28 yards
The running game this year has been the most productive so far: Total net yards Rushing 273
The running production seemed to have help balance the passing game, not putting as much pressure on Rusty's shoulder to carry the team. Again another solid performance by Rusty - 251 yards passing.
For a total of 507 total yards offensively.
It was nice to see Holley out their catching some passes, IMO he should be the starter ahead of Bonner - He at least catches the pigskin.
Wilkes is another guy that should be getting more reps.
Overall, this was the type of game we needed before facing a VERY good Cajun team. I think its as good a time as any to finally beat both Louisiana's in one season - a feat we have yet done.

video goes out before the touchdown run and comes back on to see the PAT. We need instant replays.
We really want to put an instant replay machine in the truck. It is our next goal to improve broadcasting. The problem is, instant replay systems are some of the most expensive systems in professional video production. Ranging from 14k-45k per unit (which only handles 4 cameras). We really need some outside funding to be able to afford this.

I was just joking. This was awesome. I live about 1500 miles away and can only get to about 1 game per year. This year was Michigan State, a 6 hour drive. So, I would have been happy with something much less than this. I've never been to a basketball game and have only seen 1 basketball game so far. A game vs UNT was televised on the web from Denver a couple of years ago. Rex was kicked out of the game on technicals. Now I'll be able to watch basketball games.
I think you need to take it one step at a time. If your next goal is to improve broadcasting, work on that. Just tell who ever was holding the mike not to hum along with the national anthem.

It was nice to have a game we could hit the cruise control for once & FINALLY put an opponent away and not letting them charge back.

I thought Morris looked really good running the ball. Blanchard has some electricity to him but seems to go down on first contact.
Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.
