Game Week Thread: FAU @ USF - 10/02/10 @ 7:05 p.m.

I'm not sure what offense USF will employ Saturday against the Owls, the past three games I have seen three different offenses.  Looking forward to having you guys come up, I had a blast down there a couple of years ago and FAU has the best looking cheerleaders I have seen in the state of Florida.  Expecting a spirited game from the Owls and some new wrinkles from the Owls, your very lucky to have Coach S.  Be safe Owls.

Any truth to the rumor we have two defensive players sitting out due to disciplinary reasons?

From fauowlaccess.com

Two senior starters on the FAU defense were practicing with the scout team on Tuesday as a result of possible disciplinary action and their status for the rest of the week, including Saturday’s game, is uncertain.

Both cornerback Tavious Polo and defensive tackle Daniel Joseph vacated their starting spots for Tuesday's workout and ran exclusively with the Owls’ scout team.
Owls coach Howard Schnellenberger said there would be an announcement on Wednesday concering Polo and Joseph.

Here is more evidence on why we need to put more pressure on their quarterback and why we need to seriously work on our tackling:
Calmed-Down Postgame Thoughts: USF vs. Western Kentucky - Voodoo Five

– "USF did not want to throw the ball. I get that your top three receivers are out and your offensive line is a strength. But seriously, when are you going to get a better chance to get your inexperienced receivers some action in a live game than against Western Kentucky? Do you want to try and break these guys in during conference play? What if Sterling Griffin and A.J. Love are out longer than you think they will be? I don't understand why you wouldn't throw the ball more than 11 times, and not throw any passes further than about 15 yards downfield.  Then again, the longest pass attempt of the game (a wheel route to Mo Plancher right before halftime) was one where B.J. Daniels stared him down the entire play, and then led him right to where the free safety was waiting for an interception."

yeah… that's pretty much spot on…

Breaking news… Sterling Griffin may play Saturday night… he's coming back off a knee injury… Bogan should be back too… hopefully that helps.
Knee not so fast my friend he had a dislocated ankle AJ has the bad knee.

Per Fau:

"The following players will not play in this weekend’s game versus USF due to conduct detrimental to the team: Daniel Joseph, Tavious Polo, David Terrell and Demetrius Williamson."
