I'll be traveling to MD for the matchup, and the Owls owe me a win since I missed last night!

There are two teams that FAU can get this weekend….a team with a clicking triple option and one without. When it's rolling its impossible to stop but so many things can go wrong that if they aren't firing on all cylinders we can hang with Navy

Gotta get into the backfield quickly to take away the qb's options then nail him! Get ahead and force them out of their run game!

We won't have to worry so much about the pass, that is for sure…but stopping the run has not been our strength. This game definitely adds to a new twist to the assignment.

Now's the time for our LB's to show what they are made of. Can't see nickel being the primary coverage scheme heading into the contest.

If the defense shows discipline, they do have the speed to slow down the option.

Defending the triple option really starts with our defensive line. Specifically the nose guard, but if the line is easily pushed back, we could be done. Second, If we identify the least talented of the 3 positions, QB, HB, FB, and make it easier for the offense to take that option, we might limit the damage. They will run and be productive, it's just a matter of how much and limiting it. Also, since they keep it on the ground so much, fumbles might come into play. We need to be ready for turnovers. Finally, we need to score first, score often and keep scoring. Option oriented offenses do not do well when they have to come from behind. I really believe we have a chance…from a talent perspective.

-Go Owls!

I think scoring early is key as well. It's a lot like the Princeton O in basketball, because they're constantly running at 4 yards per clip TD drives take 9 minutes off the clock every possession and if your offense doesn't have points on the board to feel comfortable they can start to rush and misfire bc it always seems like time is running out so fast.

I'm excited to see our speed against them though, especially our TEs and Mr Dukes…c'mon GW, your presidential campaign can really get a boost with 400yds passing in DC the week of the election!
