This just in…

East Carolina junior Shane Carden has been named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Player of the Week following his record-setting performance in the Pirates' 52-38 win over future C-USA member Old Dominion.

Carden established new single-game school records with 447 passing yards and 46 completions, while matching a program-best with five touchdown throws. In all, he completed 46-of-54 attempts (85.2 percent) without an interception to record his second career 400-yard passing effort, his fifth 300-plus and ninth 200-plus game. Twenty-one (21) of Carden's 46 completions went for 10 or more yards and he opened the contest by completing his first nine passes (and 15-of-16).

All I know is we need to pick a QB and stick with him…  This changing the QB out every other play doesnt seem to work well.

You're right about that. When coaches have had spring practice and summer practice, plus game one to evaluate, it's time to make a decision. The no-decision approach says more about coaches than players, alas. Meanwhile, I think it also is time to stop with the excuses of FAU being a young program, a rebuilding program and we-were-left-with-a-mess. Rather, it's time to be responsible, take responsibility. Oh, and yes, to produce more than incremental gains. I keep thinking that this is coming.
