The N. Texas D had troule stopping running plays to the outside (think Jackson 26 yard run, think BOTH TD's and think the last play in the game to work , a 7 yard 1st down run on the next to last possession). I was always taught they until the opponent in ANY SPORT shows that they can defend or stop a play, you keep running it. But no, we keep running the same play they have ALREADY shown they can stuff!
Needless to say I am VERY disappointed to have gone from an inept Pro style O to the worst Spread style O in the nation! And don't give me it is new. Both UAB and Akron have picked up their new O's MUCH better than we have.
Until this team is ALLOWED TO PLAY aggressively on O it will remain dull and low scoring and we will continue to lose and NOT DRAW fans or even STUDENTS WHO GET IN FOR FREE!
Open it up Coaches, we have ZERO chance of winning vs. even decent teams of our level playing a slow, dull O - especially when we still have turnover issues. Think quick strike now and then, not 15 play drives where SOMETHING bad is going to happen along the path - sad to say!
Oh, and a tip for you Coaches since last years group did not watch game film or stat sheets apparantly - ULM HAS A VERY GOOD RUN D still!

I promise you ULM isnt thinking of FAU as that school who went 1-11.
ULM Coach Todd Berry weighs in on the Owls at his presser today…
"This is a significant game for us. There’s an opportunity for us to put ourselves up one more up in the conference race, which is obviously one of our goals. We’re playing against a team that had a bye week last week. They’re in transition there this year, and that’s one of the things that can scare you as a coach. They’re picking up their new systems. They've always been a very athletic team and they are now. They are going to have an opportunity to fix some of the things they've been struggling with. We’re going to see some potentially different looks, and we’re going to have to prepare for that."
"The FAU quarterback is impressive size wise, and has a very strong arm. That’s something we’re going to have to contend with. Their defensive structure is very unique. We have not seen this coverage contour or structure this year. I am familiar with it because it is similar to what we ran when I was at the University of Miami."

Last year we lost 26-0.
After the Alabama game there looked to be some upside but after North Texas it was back to the old ways.
I'm hoping its at least a game. This has to turn around soon. Its getting lame losing every freaking game by so much. I know its a rebuilding year but its still the Sunbelt. We should be competitive.

^^ This ^^
FAU has empirically been a letdown on offense since we lost Rusty Smith. Alfred Morris certainly gave us another option on offense. BUT running it up the middle can't be the ONLY solution to every game. And (as we've seen) that "run up the middle bland solution" puts us on the wrong side of the scoreboard every frickin game!!
This season our offense has failed to put up more than 2 touchdowns against ANY team - The Georgia game we got 6 points off a pick 6!
Until Pelini can show that he and Brian Wright have the first clue of how to run an offense, they are done here…
OPEN UP THE PLAYBOOK FOR GOD SAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE?!?!? You are already losing every stinking game - what are you saving all the good plays for FIU to get the trophy back in town? If you feel this team is only due one more win this season, that would be the team I'd love to see it against (a Troy win would be amazing as well).
But no more wins will ever occur if we run it up the middle until we bore the other team's defense to tears. Is that the strategy, Pelini?

Missing Housler, Lester Jean, Harmon, Bonner, Willie Rose, Pierre and obviously Rusty. They all contributed and made our offense exciting.
I couldn't agree with you more.
Where is our super balanced spread offense from Montana?
Use that "wild owl"
Use the Tight Ends
well, who cares! we lose to ULM.
