'08s 1000 yard rusher

while reviewing a few stats after listening to tonight's espn-news broadcast (mostly centered around LSU), i wanted to ask if any of you think we can get a thousand yards out of either one of our top two backs - assuming they stay healthy?

i know that charles pierre has had an ongoing hip problem (over a year and a half)…makes me wonder what the medical staff can do for someone who looks a lot like a barry sanders type!

I just don't see it happening any time soon with the way we tend to use our backs, it will be difficult for any one back to break 1,000 yards - the closes one so far has been Doug Parker.

plus rusty dumps the ball to the back so much, alla tiki barber style, its going to be hard for them to rush a kilo.

Unless one of the RBs we have is able to gain significantly more yardage per play than the other backs, I don't see it happening. I think Coach S likes to rotate them all out. But then again, what is the point in bringing in recruits like Michael Barasch – a leading rusher at his school – if you don't intend to let him stretch his legs, you know?

The more threats we have the less prepared a defense can be.. I'd like to see our running game improve but getting 1000 out of 1 back is not necessarily ideal for our game.

Re: '08s 1000 yard rusher

Not going to be easy. Too much depth at RB. We could have as many as 3 guys with 500+ yards rushing, but not a single guy with 1000 yards.

However, if I had to pick someone to gain 1000 it would have to be Pierre.

I didn't realize Jackson's YPC were that high, like to see our RB's get back to that number collectively this upcoming season.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.
