I don't see them closing the bowl for a good 10 years or so. I think they would do everything in their power to just expand our laterally and maintain the palm trees.

It's going to look fantastic on TV when they go for a PAT.

I was talking to a guy that was doing some videography for the construction company and he said that the additional seats would be a cantilevered upper deck. I guess they built some of the infrastructure to handle the addition when the time comes.

I heard this is why we did not wall in underneath the stands…this is to allow expansion…. FAU could always opt to close in without expansion if demand doesn't increase… If we move to a bigger conference in the future, we need the option of expansion, so we wont know until many years from now….

That's a great decision.  Enclosing the stands should not be an option.  The open endzone with the palm trees is one of the design features that makes the stadium unique and sets it apart from other venues.

I still like to compare our new stadium to the old Orange Bowl (wonder why?) just a bit smaller - AND NICER!

Let's make this just as formidable home field as that WAS for the 'Canes back in the day BEFORE Joe Robbie and Marlin's whatever stadium…NO edge there anymore!

GO OWLS!

The new stadium is sure to have many games broadcast on TV nationally. Maybe not prime-time mind you (this season anyway) but national broadcasts nonetheless.
