Whoa, all I meant was I would rather drive to Boca, I prefer the campus as a backdrop (we want to draw more student support), and I think you could set up an affordable and comfortable "Temporary" stadium until we get the real one built. I'll take grass over Lockhart any day. I have my season tickets too, but I'm willing to be patient and take part of the building process. I love my school, and I love my Owls.

I was not directing that as a slam on you, I was just saying that our school needs to now get off the pot and build us what we ask for. I for one do not believe in throwing out any money on a temp. stadium. Put the money torwards the perminent structure and get it built. Knowing the way this B.O.T. is, I am very concerned that if we built this temp. stadium… it could turn into our perminent one. Therefore, I would prefer to wait till we get our approval to breakground on the real deal…

I understand what you're saying. I just think that it will be 7 to 10 years before we see a fully constructed stadium like the renderings that were posted. In the meantime what do we do? Obviously there are many tasks that need to be addressed before breaking ground (location, traffic flow, zoning, logistics, vendors etc. The sooner we get a temporary structure on campus, the sooner these issues will be addressed (like prepping a lot for a house). Maybe I'm too grateful- we are playing Div.I, with one of the Legendary Greats of college football
as our coach. Our program is growing in talent, following, and interest (all of this in what, 5 yrs.?). All of these are factors in building a successful program. We need to build our house, and fill it too.

Call me naive, but I actually believe if we get the "ok" this month, we will have our stadium by 2010. Although that is not as fast as I would have liked, I would be very happy.

After we have a lot of money invested and break-ground on building the new stadium is when I say we start talking about a temp. Anytime before that, would not be smart.

I can't stand waiting for kick off, or a new stadium on campus. ;-)

One of the positives of even just having an on campus stadium is the student support. I personally would drive out to Dolphins Stadium each Saturday if that's where they played. I have season tickets and I go to every game, but there are a lot of people who chances are, aren't posting on this board would only go to a game if it was on campus.

1:00 game they can go out the night before and wake up at 12:45 and walk over to the game or in most cases stumble to the game lol. I also think even though it's a commuter school for now, a lot of students don't have rides to the game (Do they still offer bus rides to the games? or was that just games at Dolphins Stadium?) or just don't want to drive out to commercial if they live around the corner or they can go to Alehouse to watch the game.

If we had something on campus I would be willing to bet the attendance figures become much improved making for a more rowdy and louder atmosphere… just my opinion though

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!
